Abstract
MYIASIS: infestation with fly larvae. This occurs in rural communities who live in close contact with animals. There are three types of myiasis; * Specific * Semi specific * opportunistic The most important species is Cordylobia antbropopbaga- the tumba fly or mangofly. Eggs are laicl in contaminated still, or in wet or soiled clothes that have been left to dry Towels, underclothes and baby napkins are often infested.
