The Pleural Effusion in HIV - an Approach to Diagnosis

Abstract
HIV is one of the most prevalent diseases and causes of mortality in sub Saharan Africa. Pleural disease is common in this population, espescially pleural effusions. It is associated with a significant mortality and correct diagnostic and therapeutic management is essential to optimize the possibility for a favourable outcome.
