Abstract
The world is now flooded with acronyms and none more so than the world of modern medicine. Acronyms are abbreviations formed from the initial letters of a word or phrase and in medicine are mostly used for disease names (MS, MI, etc.) as well as for drugs (ARVs, CCBs, etc.) and investigations (MRI, LP, etc.).
