Chairman's Message
Abstract
The appearance of this issue of Family Practice represents an important landmark in the development of general practice in this country. For the first time we own our own journal which will reflect our opinions and our philosophy. It will provide us with the opportunity to publish academic papers on subjects on which we are the experts. In this respect it will differ from most current journals in which articles are written by specialists on subjects they deem appropriate to our needs. Our journal will provide us with a forum for opinions and discussion on a wide range of issues important to the general practitioner. In essence it will be a journal of general practice, for general practitioners by general practitioners.
