Abstract
In 100 patients presenting with headache at the Ga-Rankuwa out-patient department, two main categories of headache, organic and dysfunctional, were diagnosed. Dysfunctional headaches predominated and of these tension headaches were the commonest. Females were affected more than males. The study showed that the "time present" factor and the pattern of occurrence were important in distinguishing between different types of headaches.
