Abstract
Runners represent a healthy segment of our population. They are well-informed about their bodies, yet are susceptible to misrepresentations. There are a variety of illnesses induced by sports activities and also pseudo-syndromes and abnormal test results in otherwise healthy athletes. This often represents a dilemma, for the doctor treating them. Four cases are presented, two from the author's practice under two with whom he runs, illustrating these dilemmas.
