Management of medical emergencies

Abstract
Drawing on experience with emergencies presenting at King Edward VIII Hospital, this article provides a practical approach to the management of some of the commonest medical emergencies. It refers to recent advances in the treatment of Hypertensive crisis, Acute Pulmonary Oedema, Myocardial Infarction, Status Asthmaticus, Status Epilepricus and Hypoglycaemia.
