Abstract
Sleep disorders encompass an extensive neuropsyciatric field, and should be regarded as a symptom indicating an underlying problem. The duration ia an important guide to evaluation and treatment: transient, short-term or long-term. Incidence, diagnostic evaluation and management for each of them is dealt with, and the importance of a healthy life style and good doctor-patient relationship emphasized.
