Abstract
Some socio-cultural principle are discussed which an antropologist observed to be important in the clinical encounter between white doctor and black patient. Certain behavioral patterns influence the outcome of the encounter. A need is emphasized for a sensitivity towards patients whose belief-systems differ from that of the doctor,.
