Abstract

Immunisation remains one of the most cost effective but under-utilised means of preventing disease.l To address the problem of excess morbidity and mortality due to vaccine preventable diseases, the World Health Organisation (WTIO) established the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) in 1974.
