Abstract
Die HIV-epidemie in Suid-Afrika het'n aanvang geneem in 1981 toe die eerste pasient gediagnoseer is'. Navorsing onder bloedskenkers in Kwazulu-Natal het getoon dat die omvang van die epidemie in die vroe€ fase nie verskil het van lande in Midde-Afrika nie.
