Abstract

Previously I discussed the epidemiology of diabetes. principles of screening and diagnosis ancl the initial assessment ol'the neu' diabetic. In this issue I address the management of the non-instrlin dependent diabetic patient. The reader is referred to thc South African guidelines for the managentent of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus recently published.
