Should a sportsperson compete or train whilst suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection?
Abstract
What should you advise a sportsperson with an upper respiratory tract infection concerning continued participation in strenuous exercise? Practitioners are often faced with this problem in their consulting rooms. A sportsperson with a cold, influenza or another upper respiratory tract infection presents for treatment and/or advice as to whether they can compete or continue training.
