The Impact of Women's Organisations on Health and Community Development

Abstract
Introduction: Women's organisations in their health and economically focused activities play an important role in improving communities' quality of life, and as such should be supported in their efforts. The Elim Care Group and Akanani women's organisations have been in existence for a period of time and their impact on health and development of the Hlanganan community at Elim in the Northern Province. South Africa has not been assessed.The study under discussion will explore the impact these organisations have had at household level in terms of the oudined health and development indicators.
