Abstract
PART ONE: BETTY'S BAY Salie is a well-nourished 30 year old housewife from Betty's Bay. She is epileptic (as a result of a head injury) and has been well-controlled on carbamazepine l200mg/day in divided doses for several years. Despite occasionally forgetting her medication - usually when she had too much to drink - she has not had a seizure for the last two years.
