Abstract
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality for any diabetic patient. A study published in the NEJM showed that patients with type 2 diabetes who had never had a cardiovascular event were at the same risk as non-diabetic patients, who had already had a vascular event, for having a cardiovascular event.
